The World as I AM

The World as I Am is a not for profit organisation consisting of members motivated to promote equality through cultural exchange. Our focus is protecting environmental and cultural heritage, improving quality and access to education where required while stimulating economic stability in order to raise the standard of living.

The methods by which we implement these fundamental concepts is through international volunteer programs , Growth by Trade, Respect Music and other projects to generate funds and awareness such as The World as I AM photography project

The carbon atom is used to represent the organization because when viewed at our closest point, this is how we and every living thing on this planet appear.

When working in Peru with native communities without a grasp of the language, this image was useful in explaining that no one really is foreign. When people asked what it was, the reply was “it’s a picture of you.. and me.. and the monkey .. and the tree. We are all the same. The only thing that separates us are our ideas but if we can communicate and share ideas with an open mind then we can remove the separation between us.” It is vital to understand that there is no place on this planet that is not your home. Understanding each culture gives a much richer dynamic to the human experience.
